Final Fantasy 6 is my favorite in the Final Fantasy series, and doing a really nice and fancy version of Terra was always a dream costume of mine. I had made a version of her previously, that I had really loved, but this was my chance to really show off how far my skills have come.
For this version, I constructed a shell layer that had corsetry built in. One so I could have a nice base for the fashion layer to sit on, and second so I had the proper support underneath. The whole back of the dress laces up. The fashion layer was all brocade and all the flowers were hand embroidered. Each flower detail was custom done with thread, bead and sequins, something gave it a little extra sparkle. The arm bands were fitted to my arms and include gussets for movement. It also includes the hand embroidery like I did on the bodice.
The cape is fully lined, and has a lace layer that was covered in rhinestones. I added the straps to the dress so the cape had a place to attach to. The tights were reused from the previous costume, but rhinestones were added to give it something a little extra. The bootcovers were made from the same fabric as the bodice, and attached to a boot that I had.
