Nero is my favorite character in the series, and this version of her was a culmination of showing off my skills, and how far I’ve come as a maker. This costume is a mix of corsetry, foamwork and pattern drafting to create the odd looking pieces.
The armor bits are all foam based, the finger glove including some worbla elements to create the finger armor, while the pauldron was done with pepkura. The bodice of the piece has a corset built into it, for stability as well as helping to create her more hourglass silhouette. The shape of the skirt was created by making a half hoop, and a layer of tulle to smooth everything out.
